I mean, we all want to have a leaner, firmer, sexier body right? In a lot of cases, people just need to know the secret answer to ‘ What is the easiest way to lose 10 lbs ’.
I have been in this exact position many times……unfortunately.
I hate to say it, but my weight was like a yo-yo for many years in my life.
I only finally got my weight under control over the past 2-3 years, and I spent a lot of time trying to diet and exercise to help lose weight & maintain my figure. Often trying ‘this diet’ or ‘that diet’ and having some success, however, I would usually have issues for one of the following reasons:
- I would get sick of eating the food that the diet ‘allowed’ me to eat
- A lack of noticeable weight loss would frustrate me, making me want to quit the diet, or look for a ‘new’ diet to try (often just outright quitting the diet and gaining back more weight soon after)
- I hated going to the ‘gym’ to workout every day – I didn’t feel comfortable around others with my body in the condition it was
- Going to the gym was also time consuming…..I lead a fairly busy life – I don’t have time for an hour a day at the gym
- Some of the diets I tried were very ‘specialized’, where I would be making smoothies or shakes or meals, with specialized ingredients that were not very tasty, or hard to find, and/or were very expensive to purchase

Realistically, the reason most diets fail is because they do not produce results fast enough. Think about it – busting your butt in the gym for an hour a day, and eating micro-portions of meals, just to see the scale maybe move a pound or two each week?? Personally, I found this very frustrating myself……I would then be obsessed with thoughts like “How the heck can I lose some weight”…..wishing that I knew the easiest way to lose 10 lbs.

This was all up until about two years ago, when I finally got my body weight to stay fairly consistent by eating healthier (no special diets, just making healthier dietary choices), and by getting some consistent light exercise.
By consistent light exercise, I mean going for walks, doing some yoga at home, and going on the occasional bike ride (not all in the same day, haha). I still hate the idea of ‘going to the gym, so you wont ever find me there, haha.
I prefer to get my exercise by doing things I actually enjoy. I love going for walks after supper, so it doesn’t feel like an ‘exercise’ , or else I would probably have a hard time getting the motivation to go on them. I also have really enjoyed doing yoga in the comfort of my living room – no overcrowded yoga classes teaching the same generic yoga lesson every time. No fears of being ‘stared at’ in my yoga outfits by creepy dudes during class……or worries about how my body looks when in some of the ‘unflattering’ yoga poses.
I found out that, with a proper diet, and a bit of mild exercise (nothing crazy) – losing a bit of weight, and maintaining it afterwards, wasn’t too hard after all.
EXCEPT….for those pesky last 10 lbs that I wanted to lose, but was having a hard time making any more progress once I got to that point. I guess my body ‘plateaued” – and I wasn’t too thrilled by that. I REALLY wanted to lose 10 more lbs to have a more toned body (especially my stomach…..ugh….I have a belly that just wouldn’t go away).
I would look at myself in the mirror and constantly ask myself – “What is the easiest way to lose 10 lbs ??!!!” …. There HAS to be something I can do to drop the last little bit of weight I wanted to, so that I could achieve my goal of having the body I always wanted (and being able to keep it).
I went online and researched the various ‘diets’ that were ranked as the “Top 10” and “Best diets” and ended up finding a lot of information – a bit of an overload actually. Some of the diets I ruled out right away because I didn’t want a diet that involved a DRASTIC CHANGE to my daily meal plans.
I could NEVER cut out carbs, or eat mostly only carbs, or cut out sugar, or cut out food all together (I mean, seriously, drinking ONLY juice or smoothies?? That would never work for me haha 😊 ). Not only would it never work for me, there’s no way I could keep those dietary habits forever, and I know once I stopped I would gain back some of the weight I lost anyways.
